Given his orthopedic foot surgery training and experience, Dr. Raines’ clinical focus is entirely on foot and ankle medicine. Within that specialty, Dr. Raines has incorporated minimally-invasive and arthroscopic techniques into his practice. He is skilled at performing total ankle replacements and other complicated procedures for foot and ankle arthritis and deformity.
About Dr. Raines
Robert A. Raines, M.D. is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has been practicing for more than two decades.
Dr. Raines earned his Bachelors of Arts degree from Yale University in anthropology. He earned his M.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He served an internship at the Rush University Medical College in Chicago. He then completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Chicago Division of Biological Sciences. In addition to completing that general orthopedic surgery residency, he also completed an additional year of foot and ankle specialty training at the Baylor University Medical Center.

Within that specialty, Dr. Raines has incorporated minimally-invasive and arthroscopic techniques into his practice. He is skilled at performing total ankle replacements and other complicated procedures for foot and ankle including: advented bunion and achilles surgeries.
From arthritis to trauma, injuries to joint replacement and tumors, Dr. Raines brings vast expertise to the diagnosis and treatment for his patients. Personally, Dr. Raines likes to be active, and he encourages others to maintain or regain an active, enjoyable lifestyle.
Outside of work, he enjoys many kinds of outdoor activities, including jogging, playing tennis and disc golf with his kids. He is an avid listener of all kinds of music, and enjoys playing piano to relax.
