He has over two decades of experience in a wide range of orthopedic procedures, arthroscopic surgery, total joint replacement, foot and ankle surgery, trauma fracture and general orthopedics.
Dr. Papacostas earned his medical degree from the prestigious University of Cincinnati College of Medicine after completing his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center from 1999 to 2004, where he honed his skills and knowledge in orthopedic procedures. In 2004, he pursued a fellowship in Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital, also located in Cincinnati, Ohio, further specializing in his field. Dr. Papacostas furthered his academic work in 2006 with additional training in Hyperbaric Medicine and Problem Wound Management, demonstrating his commitment to providing comprehensive patient care.
Dr. Papacostas was awarded the Freiberg First Prize Award in 2000, 2001, and 2002 and was also honored with the Gate Pharmaceutical Award and the Louis W. Rauh Award.
He resides in the Wilmington, Ohio area and is looking forward to an expanded leadership role in orthopedic services offered by Clinton Memorial Hospital. In his free time, he enjoys cycling and maintaining an active lifestyle.
