An Introduction to orthobiologics:
Dr. Henry Stiene and Dr. John Brannan of Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine are proud to be the only physicians in the TriState area licensed to perform and treat patients with the Regenexx™ Family of Procedures, including concentrated platelet injections and Stem Cell Treatments.
orthobiologics allows your body to use its natural healing process. Stem Cells and Platelet derived growth factors are found in each of us and are responsible for healing injured soft and hard tissue. They are also the key components behind the our ortho-biologic treatments.
As we age or face an injury, our bodies often cannot get enough of these cells into the damaged area to heal completely. The Regenexx™ Procedures help solve this problem by precisely delivering a high concentration of stem cells and platelets into a specific spot. This targeted approach assists your body’s ability to heal naturally. Our patients experience very little down time and avoid the long, painful rehabilitation periods that often follow surgery.

Hear More From Beacon Orthopaedics Patients:
Having emerged to prominence in the last two decades, orthobiologics is a viable option to treat common orthopaedic conditions and injuries. What these treatments do it help the tissue heal. Ortho-biologics generally include stem cells (from bone marrow or fat cells) and platelet injections.
These procedures have been shown to be extremely safe since they are non-drug treatments using the patient's own tissue. Candidacy is determined by a thorough screening process and physical exam. By comparing a patient's history with established outcomes in the Regenexx database, we are able to project their chances of success with a high degree of accuracy.
Why We Partner with Regnexx:
orthobiologics options have been increasing nationally, claiming to treat ailments of all kinds. So why did the orthobiologics team at Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine choose to partner with Regenexx®?
First, Regenexx focuses exclusively on treating orthopedic conditions. All of the doctors in the Regenexx network are hand-picked musculoskeletal experts who receive continual training on Regenexx researched and developed techniques. This means that the team at Beacon receives expert training and access to advanced new research, rather than a one-time weekend seminar any doctor can attend.
Second, Regenexx has more scientific publications supporting its methods than any other orthopedic stem cell treatment. The Regenexx stem cell protocol has been researched for more than a decade in a state-of-the-art lab. The procedure itself involves a series of injections that occur over the course of a few office visits with an interventional orthopedist. This treatment recommendation occurs only after an in-depth review of your medical history and specific condition.
Third, Regenexx is a customized treatment solution: not a one-size-fits-all panacea. No corners are cut in the research or application of the Regenexx stem cell and blood platelet injections. The dedicated lab research team continually advances and improves Regenexx’s offering. They frequently have technological advancements that continue to widen the gap between the Regenexx family of procedures and other ortho-biologics.
Additionally, Regenexx procedure uses stem cells derived from bone marrow. Our on-site lab at Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine allows Dr. Stiene and Dr. Brannan to isolate 10x to 20x more stem cells than an automated centrifuge. We use special equipment to count the number of stem cells active in your sample to better tailor your treatment to your individual case.
At Beacon, our interventional orthopedic team achieves optimal results by using ultra-sound and fluoroscopy guidance to place stem cells precisely in a targeted area. This is like using a GPS to arrive at a specific house number on a particular street, rather than just trying to arrive in an area of town.
Regenexx tracks patient outcomes at regular intervals using the world’s most advanced and largest in orthopedic stem cell treatments. The numbers are analyzed and published on a semi-annual basis and shared openly and publically.

A Message From Tracie, A orthobiologics Patient at Beacon
I had a life changing experience with platelet injections and the orthobiologics team at Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine! The full results take time and patience to realize, but the journey is worth the effort in every way.
From my experience, platelet injections therapy should be the first line of intervention suggested for spine patients.
I have been thrilled by the results of platelet injections: I only wish it was available prior to me enduring other devastating treatments. Giving your body an opportunity to heal itself makes sense. The great team at Beacon Orthopaedics will support you every step of the way.
I followed the platelet injections protocol meticulously, and my results have met and exceeded my expectations.
platelet injections is not a quick fix, but I know from experience it is worth the patience.
