About Dr. Mirkopoulos
A native of Cincinnati, Nicholas Mirkopoulos, M.D., graduated from Withrow High School before he attended Northwestern University on a football scholarship. He came back to the Tri-State to earn his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Upon graduation, he then completed his residency at Summa’s combined orthopedic residency program.
Dr. Mirkopoulos became interested in medicine, specifically orthopedics, after treatment by the medical staff for a leg injury while playing football at Northwestern University. This led to passion to provide care and help patients recover musculoskeletal disease and injury.
He is adept and experienced in treating a multitude of orthopedic injuries and conditions, such as rotator cuff tears, carpal tunnel syndrome, meniscus surgery and extremity fractures. He has specialized training in arthroscopic techniques which can lead to a more rapid recovery.
Dr. Mirkopoulos has a special interest in joint reconstruction in the form of hip, knee and shoulder replacement. He has performed over 6,000 total joint replacements in 25 years of practice.

He is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the very select and prestigious American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).
He is fluent in English, Greek and Macedonian. In his free time, he enjoys reading, travelling and spending time with his family.
