Spencer Iacovone Named Beacon Orthopaedics Primetime Performer

Congratulations to Moeller’s Spencer Iacovone (class of 2013), who was voted the Beacon Orthopaedics Primetime Performer of the Week for Oct. 7!  Spencer is a two sport athlete who thrives in the baseball diamond and on the gridiron.  As the team captain for a top ranked team in the, the 6’2″ quarterback has a lot on his shoulders.

Spencer resides in Liberty Township and is a junior at powerhouse football school Moeller.  He is following in the footsteps of two older brothers Dominick (graduating class of 2006) and Sage (class of 2009), as both played for the Crusaders.  Although a two sport athlete in high school, Spencer plans to pursue baseball in college, stating that his biggest goal is to play professional baseball.

Given his athletic prowess, work ethic, and ability to remain calm in the face of pressure, watching Spender rise to the MLB would not be surprising.  Moeller head football coach John Rodenberg spoke at length about Spencer’s level head during big games, even saying that, “Spencer honestly loves pressure,” and that number seven is “…a born leader who rarely gets shaken.”  Rodenberg also went on to compliment his quarterback’s work ethic and the way his teammates respect him.
