CINCINNATI, Ohio – Sports medicine physicians and athletic trainers from Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and TriHealth are accustomed to spending time at Greater Cincinnati sports venues and caring for athletes.

Now, key medical staff from TriHealth and Beacon will be keeping a close eye on the region’s most highly trained and talented dancers as they rehearse and perform at venues such as Music Hall. Beacon and TriHealth have partnered to provide sports medicine services to the dancers and staff of the Cincinnati Ballet, the renowned arts institution celebrating its 60th anniversary. The Beacon and TriHealth partnership, along with providing this care to the Cincinnati Ballet displays the continued dedication to delivering quality support and services to organizations and the community.

“Our partnership with TriHealth and Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine will allow us to provide the highest quality care for our dancer athletes,” said Deborah Brant, Cincinnati Ballet President and CEO. “We are so grateful to partner with the region’s premier orthopedic and sports medicine care provider for Cincinnati’s college and professional athletes.”

Professional ballet dancers train and perform at an incredibly high level and can be susceptible to ankle, leg and foot injuries. Beacon and TriHealth are now the Official Sports Medicine Partners of the Cincinnati Ballet and will provide a Certified Athletic Trainer working in collaboration with a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic or sports medicine physician to assist the dancers during practices, performances, and in between. TriHealth will also provide onsite Physical Therapy care for professional dancers as needed.

“Performers of this magnitude deserve to have the best orthopedic and health care available, and TriHealth is honored to serve the members of the Cincinnati Ballet in collaboration with Beacon Orthopedics,” said TriHealth Executive Vice President & System Chief Operating Officer Terri Hanlon-Bremer. “Beacon and TriHealth have a long history of uniting to serve our community, and this agreement is the latest example of how our partnership provides the best orthopedic care in the region. We appreciate being the official sports medicine partner of the Cincinnati Ballet, and are proud to support efforts with this world-renowned organization,” said Andy Blankemeyer, CEO of Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.

In addition to treating injuries, Beacon and TriHealth will provide first aid and CPR training and instruction for using automated external defibrillators (AED). Preventive care and sports medicine lectures will also be offered on topics that include strength and conditioning, hydration, sports psychology, concussion awareness, and more.
