The Christ Hospital Health Network and Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Partner with Cincinnati United Soccer Club

Cincinnati, OH (May 1, 2015) Today, Sports Medicine Partners, Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and The Christ Hospital Health Network announce an exclusive partnership with Cincinnati’s largest soccer club. Cincinnati United Soccer Club is the region’s premier club for player development, servicing both boys and girls teams from age five to twenty. The club draws families from Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren Counties as well as northern Kentucky and the south Dayton area. About 2,500 families are a part of the club. The Cincinnati United Premier program, CUP, includes players competing at the highest level, including youth national teams and in the future at the collegiate and professional levels. The Competitive Program is made up of CU Lakota-Monroe, CU Southeast and CU Sycamore-Mason. Additionally, the club offers the CU Juniors Academy for players under eight years old.

Cincinnati United is run by an Executive Director and professional Directors of Coaching. The club employs top professional coaches and trainers in a player-centric environment that focuses on training, development, and fostering a lifelong love of the beautiful game at all levels making Cincinnati United the destination soccer club in Ohio.

Cincinnati United Executive Director, Scott Rodgers and members of the Club’s Executive Board approached Dr. Timothy Kremchek and representatives from Beacon and The Christ Hospital to begin designing a world-class sports medicine sponsorship to compliment the club’s soccer training programs.

Cincinnati United Soccer Club President, Dan Kunkemoeller, added, “We are very excited about our new partnership as we continue to bring the best together. With this new relationship, we will continue to develop our players’ soccer skills and now our families’ health. Working with Dr. Kremchek and his staff has been a great pleasure. Their mission mirrors our club’s philosophy.”

The sports medicine partnership will include a Medical Director (Dr. Timothy Kremchek) and a directory of physicians throughout The Christ Hospital Heath Network to assist in providing the club and their tournament guests immediate access to specialized care. Beacon and Christ Athletic Trainers will provide tournament coverage and the partnership will implement sports psychology, nutrition, strength & conditioning and ACL Injury Prevention programs within Cincinnati United’s system.

Newly named Medical Director, Dr. Timothy Kremchek played a major role in the vision and development of the coverage plan for Cincinnati United. He states, “When I sat down with Dan (Kunkemoeller) and Scott (Rodgers), I was immediately impressed. Their commitment to using this sport to develop young athletes and connect families across the region aligns with my passion for keeping these athletes safe and on the field – participating in sports as a way to learn valuable life lessons. We are implementing custom programs on a large scale for their athletes and coaches and providing a network of health care professionals to support these athletes and all CU families.”
