Ian P. Rodway, M.D.

I had a great experience with Dr. Rodway, I was treated with respect and he made sure all my questions were answered. He made sure that I understood what treatments were needed with his diagnosis. I was extremely happy with my visit.

-John K.

I love Dr Rodway! He is so knowledgeable and makes you feel so confident in his diagnosis. He explains things so clearly so you completely understand what’s going on and what your options, if any, are. I’ve never had to wait a long time for anything there.

-Carol

The appointment was on time. The staff is very very kind, and they pay attention to what I say. The cortisone injection worked great and I was pain free after 6 days. Today I took a snapshot of my spine MRI so now I can explain where it hurt and why. Great staff in this office. Dr. Rodway’s PA is equally as nice and able to explain any questions or concerns I might have.

I just wanted to take a minute to say how great Dr. Rodway and his staff are. Over the past year, I have had back surgery & Cervical spine surgery and I can’t begin to say enought how great they have been to me. Dr. Rodway is without a doubt the best back & Spine surgeon in the country. Julie and Nick are a perfect match for his team. They are real professionals. All three have great personalities that compliment one another and make me feel at ease knowing that everything is going to be alright. They always follow up to make sure that I am OK and am making progress to get better. I continually tell my friends that Beacon and Dr. Rodway is the place to go and I know of at least 10 of them have gone including a daughter, granddaughter and grandson.
Thank you Dr. Rodway, Nick and Julie, You are the best!

I called a couple other Ortho offices but Beacon was able to get me in right away with Dr. Brannan. I was in so much pain at the time I couldn’t wait three weeks for an appointment. I had Chronic Back pain for the past 10 years and this past was horrible. I was seeing a Chiropractor for 6-7months and at the end of the time the pain got so bad I could barely walk. I was in pretty bad shape, I mean I was 36 years old and walking like a 90 year old lady (no offense), but at my age I didn’t think I would be dragging my leg behind me because it felt practically numb and pains in my lower that were getting so severe I could barely walk let alone sit, or stand in one place too long. Dr. Brannan was great and after I told him my problem and what kind of treatments I had sought out in the past he walked out of the waiting room and came back and said that he was sending me down to get an MRI and to come back to see him right after. How amazing maybe they could finally figure out what was wrong with me. I heard everything from I had a pinched nerve, to a sciatica nerve. The Acupuncturist that treated me when I was pregnant said that he didn’t think it was either but in my head what did he know he didn’t take a x-ray (which I found out can’t determine either symptom and the one that I recently had done through the chiropractor was not that great of a x-ray) The MRI showed that I had a Bulging disc that pushed on the main nerve in my back causing all this pain, and numbing feel down my leg. I was told I had to have surgery that week. I then met with Dr. Rodway and let me just say he is Awesome!!! I was in all this pain and was scheduled to have surgery that week. I had a 2 year old at the time and all I could think was I wanted to be able to hold him and walk, run and play with him. The day of the surgery the pain was so severe I couldn’t sit in the car and had to get in the back seat to lay down it hurt so bad. I have never been in so much pain in my life and that was the longest 1/2hr. ride in my life! It was horrible. After the surgery amazingly enough I was able to walk out of the hospital room, yes that same day! No pain just a little numbness in my leg/foot but that has pretty much disappeared in the past year. I wish I would have seen these wonderful doctors’ years ago but I’m thankful that I can walk, run, and play with my little one again. I highly recommend this practice! They were great all the way from the Receptionist, Doctors, Nurse, P.A., MRI Tech., Physical Therapist, and even the Billing staff. Beacon Ortho Rocks! Thanks for helping me get my life back!!

I wish to thank Dr. Ian Rodway, & his staff. they all have been extremely professional. Dr. Rodway with his pleasant soft reassuring voice, his smiles, his when you talk to him he listen not just with his ears, but also with his with his eyes – He made me feel confident that he really cares about me. My pain level from the beginning until this very day, 2 weeks later has never been higher then a 2. I can not say enough about Dr. Rodway, his PA, and Julie who calls almost everyday to see how I am dong. And last but not least I want to tell you I am not a young person, I will be 80 this April, so I have been around long enough to know a good doctor from a great one. Thanks again Dr. Rodway and to all of your staff!

I want to say a HUGE thank you for Dr. Rodway, Matt Milam PA, Julie Gander and all of the other great people that work on Dr. Rodway’s team. I had been suffering since 2006 with back problems. I had 2 previous back surgeries at another Cincinnati Clinic and they were unsuccessful. So I just learned to deal with the pain until I asked my General Physician if she could refer me to someone else. That is how I became a patient of Dr. Rodway’s. They tried steroid shots and physical therapy but we knew when they were not working that the only option was surgery. So on April 4, 2013 they performed an Anterior Lumbar Interfusion surgery on my lower back. As soon as I was in the recovery room I KNEW this was a success! I am now living with NO back pain and getting ready to start my physical therapy at Beacon. I am forever grateful to Dr. Rodway for basically giving my life back to me. I am 45 yrs. old and felt like an 80 year old before the surgery. I would recommend to everyone suffering with back/neck pain to make an appointment with Dr. Rodway. I can’t thank you enough, Dr. Rodway, Matt Milam and staff for your kindness and superior care that I received. I am a walking testimony to how awesome you all are.

-Debra

I would like to say thank you to Dr. Ian Rodway for his care and skill given to me recently with my back surgery. This was my third surgery, (first with Beacon), so I easily can compare! I feel like I have my life back…I suffered for 2 years with severe back pain, and tried the injections and pain management techniques, but when it is time to give in for the surgery, you just know it. Dr. Rodway and his staff listened to my history and showed compassion as well as answers. So again, kudos to Dr. Rodway, his staff, and basically the whole Beacon experience. It is a very efficiently ran office; you don’t sit and wait for hours to see the doctor, the front desk people are efficient and the staff make you feel comfortable and that someone really cared about your pain. You can bet that I will recommend Beacon and Dr. Rodway to those I meet suffering as I did.

I had injured my back playing college football and had lived for 39 years with pain. Numbness in the legs, unable to sleep for long periods (slept on an ice pack every night). I had tried everything: acupuncture, chiropractic care, therapy, partial disc removal, steroid injections, etc., until I had enough. I had surgery this past summer by Dr. Rodway. Professional, but friendly, told me to expect to be sidelined from 2 to 6 months. Went back to work in 2 weeks and 3 months later feel great. Time will tell, but so far no regrets.

I am glad a friend referred me to Beacon. I was suffering great back pain. I had had two previous back surgeries, one with rods, several years ago. I had physical therapy and tests, none of which relieved the pain. Dr. Brannan had diagnosed me with Stenosis and Scoliosis and referred me to Dr. Rodway for a surgical consult. I knew I was headed for a wheelchair if I didn’t have something done. I am so thankful for Dr. Rodway. They operated (2-3)times adding up to 15+hours. I am now out of pain, I stand a lot straighter and for longer periods of time. They have given me my life back. I am starting to get back to activities I had to give up. I have been able to travel again. Life is good. I thank the good Lord also.

When I came to Dr. Rodway I was in so much pain it was just to much for me to tolerate. I waited for weeks, to where pain pills would no longer take the pain away. I did therapy, traction, and saw a Chiropractor to try to put off a surgery. I have to admit I was fearful of having a neck spine fusion done, but with compassion and understanding Dr. Rodway took his time to explain to me exactly what had to be done for this pain to leave and how he was going to accomplish this. I felt very comfortable and confident with his wisdom and knowledge in this type of surgery. For me, when I woke up from the surgery, all the pain was completely gone! Thank you, Dr. Rodway I am living a pain free life!

-Carol

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank Dr Rodway for all of his help. He told me what to expect and that is what happened. He kept me informed the entire time of my recovery and I now am pain free!!!
