Dear Dr. Argo,

 

Several years ago I was transported by ambulance to Good Sam Hospital with a shattered patella.  You repaired the damage with screws and wire.

 

Last week, as I was hiking in Mt. Airy Forest, you crossed my mind and my heart filled with gratitude for your knowledge and skill.

 

I am so fortunate to have no pain or any difficulty walking whatsoever.  I thank you so much for the expert care that you provided.

I want to express my complete gratitude for the work being done by the Beacon team. You have a team of people that demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and delivers the best customer experience that I could imagine.

 

I first contacted Beacon after developing a significant increase in left knee pain. The knee had been troubling me for years but never before had it been debilitating. I believe I made the call to Beacon in late July and was scheduled to see Dr. Argo. This was my first pleasant surprise as it seems one rarely gets to see highly qualified medical expertise on short notice…

 

One could not ask for a medical experience to go any better than the one I had with Beacon West. Actually, it did get better as I was awarded a Beacon T Shirt on my last day of PT. All of the team at Beacon is to be commended.

 

For sure, a mere THANK YOU seems inadequate. My knee today feels to be maybe 95-99% of the way to perfect. It is so much better than the day I first saw Dr. Argo in July that I am thrilled with the result and pretty sure it will get to 100% as time passes.

I cannot begin to thank all you for your compassion and expert care. You never know what will happen in a split minute but obviously my accident was unexpected. Tough on the old broad to recover but I’m doing it! Walking a few miles a day now. All of you were so helpful at any given time when I needed you. Beacon Orthopaedics rocks! Dr. Argo, Daniele, Jamie, Ben, X-Ray Techs, Front Desk Girls and PT. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I went to Beacon for a shoulder evaluation… Joe Ehrhard and the rest of the Beacon team were awesome.  I was greeted warmly and was seen promptly at my appointment time.  Joe was patient, asked probing questions, and listened intently at my questions.  There was no rush to expensive surgery and he suggested cortisone injections, and Physical Therapy as a first option.  After treatment I felt better and had much greater range of motion.  I may still need surgery as a final solution but feel good about what was accomplished with minimally invasive treatment.  If I do eventually need surgery Joe and Dr. Argo will be my first choice.

Thank you for fixing my mom’s knee so we could go to agility trials again.  Mom said we kicked butt in our first weekend back!  We won every class we entered – here I am with all of my ribbons.   We had lots of fun and can’t wait to go again!!

Thank you to Dr. Argo for being a caring, thorough and enthusiastic doctor.  I knew Dr. Argo was a great doctor as my son has seen him once before for a non-surgical injury. Having said that, I was pleasantly surprised at how thorough the explanation of the surgery pre and post was.  The example of the anchor and stitching that was being used while he explained the procedure to my husband and I was a great visual aid.

I first visited Joe when I had issues with my right thumb. Joe quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem as trigger finger.  At his suggestion, we tried a cortisone shot first which provided relief for a while.  As we discussed surgery, Joe described what to expect.  Everything went exactly as he said and I’ve been extremely pleased with the results.  Joe, Dr. Argo and the entire Beacon staff were very professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with.

My whole experience with Beacon was excellent. Not only was I able to schedule an MRI that same day, upon learning of the results they were contacting me immediately. I hadn’t left the parking lot when they called to advise me that my issues were not orthopaedic in nature. The staff were instrumental in securing the proper referral/appointment for the issue in question that same day.

The ACL injury was devastating last October, but over the course of these months, I have rehabilitated fully and am ready to play. I experience no pain. We are in full pads, and I have my first game coming up very soon. It’s been a long road to recovery, but I am stronger now. Thank you!

I started swimming at the age of 13 for the local YMCA and needless to say I was the slowest one on the team. After getting a summer and winter season under my belt that following summer as a 14 year old I was breaking and creating pool records. Getting faster meant finding a team with a training regimen that would fit USA competitive swimming and that took me to Cincinnati Marlins and Miami Valley Aquatic Club along with swimming varsity for my high school Lakota West.

 

After high school I attended Wittenberg University and swam Varsity. Throughout my high school, club and college swimming I developed persistent shoulder problems that would not go away. I managed to hold my own with a shoulder that would randomly slip out all of the time, but that didn’t stop me from placing top 12 in the 500 and top 8 in the 1650 free at Conference. Through the span of 1999-2006 I had six shoulder surgeries on my right shoulder and with each one I was recommended to stop swimming. I couldn’t just give up on a sport that I love and enjoy.

 

The injury cost me a lot, Nationals, Olympic Trials and a lot of time out of the water. The six shoulder surgeries that I had consisted of capsular shifts, labrum repairs and debridements and after each surgery I was told the same thing, “ If you don’t stop swimming your going to need a shoulder replacement by the time you are 25”. By the time 2006 had rolled around I had my sixth shoulder surgery that was just a debridement, but I started to think, “I’m tired of having my shoulder constantly cleaned out with no relief from pain.”

 

I decided to see Dr. Argo, just from seeing all of the success he had with other patients I wanted to give it a shot. January 2007 he performed a capsular shift and a labral repair and to say I am finally pain free for once. It took over a year for me to get back to swimming, but I am back in the water enjoying what I love to do. It may be on a recreation level right now, but I hope that someday I can swim competitively again.
