DR. ANGELO COLOSIMO JOINS BEACON ORTHOPAEDICS & SPORTS MEDICINE

A native of upstate New York, Dr. Colosimo’s journey into sports medicine began on the football field, where he distinguished himself as an All-American player in high school and college. After a brief stint with the New England Patriots, his passion for merging sports and medicine led him to pursue a career in orthopedic surgery.

Following his medical education at New York University School of Medicine and residency at Duke University Medical Center, Dr. Colosimo embarked on a storied career in sports medicine. His tenure as the Medical Director at the University of Cincinnati saw him establish a sports medicine program from the ground up, transforming it into a leading institution in the field. While at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Dr. Colosimo was instrumental in teaching and mentoring several Beacon physicians.

With over thirty years of experience, Dr. Colosimo has earned a reputation as a pioneer in sports surgery. His expertise extends beyond collegiate athletics. For 12 years, he was the head team physician for the Cincinnati Bengals, where he cared for professional athletes. He has also served as medical director for several Northern Kentucky high schools.
