The Regenexx PL-Disc procedure is a non-surgical treatment option for patients suffering from bulging lumbar disc and herniated cervical, thoracic, or lumbar disc related problems. The procedure is intended to help patients avoid lower back surgery or high dose steroid epidural injections and their side effects.

Regenexx PL-Disc is an advanced platelet injection procedure that can offer relief from lower back pain, buttock and leg pain, or numbness and tingling in the legs or feet. It is minimally invasive with a very limited recovery period.

Regenexx-PL/Disc- uses an advanced platelet lysate instead of common bloody PRP. This means that a lab processes your blood by hand, removing inflammatory red and white blood cells, and then we crack open the platelets to allow all of the growth factors to be immediately available to your body, and combine them with a special nanogram dose of steroid similar to the normal physiologic dose of anti-inflammatories usually found in your body.

Regenexx-DDD is an extension of PL-Disc and is used to treat degenerative disc disease and other conditions where spinal ligaments and stabilizers have weakened and become lax. To learn more about why this is important view this Regenexx-DDD infographic.

The Regenexx-DDD procedure is a non-surgical treatment option for patients suffering from degenerative lumbar, thoracic, or cervical discs. The procedure is intended to help patients avoid spinal fusion surgery or frequent high dose steroid epidural injections and their side effects. Regenexx-DDD is designed to treat the cause of pain with ultra-precise spinal injections of Platelet Lysates (PL) or stem cells if needed. These injections are derived from the patient’s own growth factors and are inserted into the ligaments to treat spinal instability resulting from Degenerative Disc Disease.

  • Regenexx-DDD procedure addresses all 3 aspects of Degenerative Disc Disease.Bulging discs irritate nerves
  • Lax ligaments cause sloppy movement and lead to bone spurs
  • Painful spine joints called facets

This non-surgical procedure uses stem cells isolated from the patient’s own bone marrow. The marrow is collected using a special needle during a simple office procedure. The harvesting procedure is well tolerated by patients and many patients report experiencing no pain. After collection, the marrow is centrifuged to concentrate and purify the stem cells while removing unneeded cells. These stem cells, along with a preparation of concentrated blood platelets, are injected into the damaged disc using advanced imaging guidance.

Regenexx-SCP- A mixture obtained from whole blood that’s similar to Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), except that unlike PRP it is low in red blood cells (RBCs) and white blood cells (WBCs). As such it’s tailored to maximize the activity of your local stem cells, which can be inhibited by RBCs and WBCs. It can also be concentrated many times more than the commercially available bedside units that many physicians use.
