The captain and catcher of the Cincinnati Reds experienced knee pain in the middle of spring training at the Sarasota complex. In a matter of 24 hours the professional baseball player returned to Cincinnati to have arthroscopic surgery at the Beacon Orthopaedic Center. He was able to catch the Opening Day pitch from President Bush and returned to the lineup with two weeks.
