Luke came to the Cincinnati Reds in 2002 and later in 2003 developed more pain  in the throwing shoulder. This required arthroscopic surgery here in Cincinnati by Dr Kremchek, and physical therapy over the next year and half. Early in the 2006 season, Luke was traded to the Kansas City Royals where he has pitched successfully since his trade in the American league.
