Ryan Dempster
Chicago Cubs Closer
The former Red pitcher suffered an elbow injury in 2003, requiring surgical repair of the ligament of the right elbow. After a very long and tedious rehabilitation Dempster went on to throw for the Cubs in the 2004, 2005, and the 2006 season as one of the go to relievers in the Chicago organization.
Quote from Dr. Tim Kremchek Reds Medical Director and Orthopaedic Surgeon for Ryan Dempster:
"Ryan Dempster had his Tommy John surgery at Beacon Orthopaedics 4 years ago. Ryan was the most diligent, hard working and focused athlete I have seen in years. Ryan's love and passion are baseball and he spent every moment pursuing his goal after surgery. The Cubs understood the process and through a number of trials of reliever and starter, have found his niche, a high level MLB starting pitcher. We are very proud of Ryans success and wish him well, but not against the Reds." |
