Congratulations Dr. Robert Burger!

Dr. Robert Burger, La Salle High School Class of 1977, has provided orthopaedic and sports medicine coverage for the school since 1985. He proudly supports La Salle’s academic and athletic programs. His pride for the school’s athletic endeavors began far before Dr. Burger went into sports medicine. As a high school student at La Salle, Bob Burger honed his athletic skills by wrestling, throwing discus, and excelling at football.  Dr. Burger earned All GCL honors during his tenure at the Catholic high school.
At the collegiate level, he was a walk on member of the football team at the University of Notre Dame.  He even played on the 1977 National Championship Team and was named an Academic All American in 1980. In 2006, many years after his graduation from the university, Dr. Burger was named to the Academic All American Hall of Fame. Dr. Burger also received the Dolly Cohen National Scholar Athletic Award and the Byron V. Kanaley Award – an award for most distinguished as both a student and a leader.

The recognition from his prep school alma mater means the world to Dr. Burger. The Athletic Director for La Salle High School, Dan Flynn thanked Dr. Robert Burger for all of his hard work and ongoing support for the institution. “A good friend and the man that never sleeps, Bob has been very generous with his time, talents and treasure. We are very grateful and proud to call Bob Burger a La Salle Hall of Famer!”

On behalf of everyone at Beacon Orthopaedics, Congratulations on the La Salle High School Hall of Fame induction, Dr. Burger!
